It all began in 1927, when the company was first established as Redfield and Marcotte Insurance Agency.
With a service-oriented approach, the company's founders, L.J. Marcotte and Truman Redfield, began as agents of United Benefit Life, which later became Mutual of Omaha. They offered clients tailored health and life insurance policies to meet their specific needs. Marcottte's relationship with Mutual of Omaha continues to this day.
Changes Through the Years
Redfield left the agency in 1932, and it became the Marcotte Insurance Agency. It was around this time that Marcotte began offering property and casualty insurance to clients.
In 1957, L.J.'s son, R.D. Marcotte, assumed control of the agency. Over the years, the company evolved into three separate companies to reflect the needs of its clients.
One of the companies focused on property and casualty insurance. The second company designed employee benefit programs, and the third acted as a general agent for Mutual of Omaha.
Though the company had changed, the focus remained the same…to serve the best interests of its clients.
Following in his father's footsteps, R.D. managed the company with an innovative approach to service. For instance, Marcotte pioneered direct response marketing in the late 1970's, promoting products and services through mail and television. R.D. retired in 1988.
Today, Marcotte Insurance Agency is employee-owned and continues to provide a complete line of custom-tailored commercial and individual insurance products.
Some Things Never Change
Though we've seen a few changes since the company was established, some things will never change. Since our founding, Marcotte Insurance has consistently provided outstanding service and the best insurance protection available. That will never change. Why? Because you - our clients - come first in our eyes. That, too, will never change. You have our word. |
